Ashwagandha, Stress and Wellness: Evidence Overview
What recent systematic reviews say about Ashwagandha and stress-related outcomes, and what that means for a supplement formula.
The research question
Ashwagandha has been investigated in randomized controlled trials for stress and anxiety-related outcomes. Systematic reviews have found signals of benefit but also substantial variation between studies.
Evidence is not uniform
A 2022 systematic review and meta-analysis reported reductions in stress and anxiety, while noting low certainty and the need for higher-quality studies. A later 2024 meta-analysis similarly reported benefits but noted limitations around long-term safety and study variation.
Why dose matters
Different Ashwagandha extracts can have different concentrations of active constituents. Therefore, research on one preparation should not automatically be applied to another product.
Ashwagandha in Spartamax
Seller materials include Ashwagandha in the formula. The ingredient can be discussed as part of the formula concept, but it should not be described as a treatment for anxiety or another disorder.
Safety considerations
People taking medicines or managing health conditions should discuss supplement use with a qualified professional. Long-term safety and interactions deserve particular attention.
